Welcome to WordLab

Wordlab is a Creative Writing Group in Hartlepool. We were initially founded over three years ago with funding from New Deal for Communities.
It was only ever intended to be a 16 week project with tuition from professional writer Bob Beagrie.
However, it was so successful that the group decided to stay together to continually support each other and any new members to the group.

Group Ethos
What we offer:

• a friendly and relaxed environment for support and guidance.

• support for all aspects of writing, giving constructive feedback on works submitted.

• regular workshops hosted by local professionals who provide tuition.

• participation in live music events and spoken word events, for those interested.

Achievements
Members have:

• had works published in Kenaz Magazine, Northern Lines and This Magazine.

• had their plays produced by the People’s Theatre of Hartlepool.

• gone on to study at Newcastle and Teesside universities.
